The Simple Things that Make Me Smile

Since I started this blog I have been coming up with all sorts of things that I could write about on it. I am able to write about anything I want to, and lately its been about moving, well I decided that my blog isn't just about the big move coming up, its about me, myself, and I.
The last couple days I have been working really hard on thinking about the positive things in life that put a smile on my face, which isn't a very easy thing to do. So here is a list of what I have thought up.
- Lemon Meringue pie, this pie is absolutely amazing, its fun to make and tasty to eat, it always leaves when I am done with a piece.
- Baking in general: Baking is my way of relieving stress, and the end result always tastes good. There is quite a bit of joy that goes on when you work hard on a recipe, you put it in the oven and with in an hour you have a wonderful tasty treat that you can share, or be selfish like me and eat it all on your own.
- Being able to laugh and talk to friends about anything: with what I have gone through the last month it has been very valuable to me to have goodd friends that I have been able to talk to, and just tell them everything thats on my mind and that is bothering me. There are also always lots of good laughs to go around.
- My family: they are always there for me and they allow me to make my own choices and are always there for me when things go wrong. They help to make the right choices, and help to push me out the door on an adventure.
- Picnics: Anyone that wants to win over my heart there are two ways to do it, one way is to take me on a real picnic, you know the whole sitting on a blanket watching the birds, eating good food and of course the ability to be able to have a meaningful conversation with the people I am with.
- Cheese cake: the second way you can win me over is by getting me cheese cake, it is my favorite dessert, I would eat it everyday if I could.
- Books: being able to pick up a book and read it is a great blessing to me, I tend to disappear into the books I read until I finish them, I am hardly seen. They provide a nice little escape from everyday life.
- Last is probably what you have been expecting me to say, My Kitten. I love my little ball of fluff. She loves to cuddle, all the time, except when she has better things to do. She loves to crawl underneath the covers with me at night. Everything this little girl does always puts a smile on my face.

Topeka Kansas

After making the decision to move I was faced with the challenge of trying to figure out where to move too, the whole world was an option to me, I could go anywhere my heart decided. As I was talking to one of my sisters she suggested to me that I should pull out an atlas close my eyes and put my finger down. Well I decided that I at least wanted to stay in side of the United States, I am not the most adventurous person ever so I opened up to just the map of the United States and closed my eyes, the only problem with this was, I know where all the states are, and I know where the places I wanted to go are, so after a minute of moving my finger around I dropped it and so I am moving to Topeka Kansas. Does anyone know anyone that lives there, because I don't. I don't even think I had heard of it until yesterday, so I decided to veto my sisters idea and figure something else out.
My parents and I have spent the last couple days coming up with places I could go, here is what we came up with, with the pros and cons attached to it. Number one is Utah, everybody wants to move to Utah, except for me, I have never wanted to move and live in Utah but I would be close to my sisters, but I'd have to find a job and find a place to live, but I'd be able to share a car with one of my sisters. Number 2 was Arizona, for some reason I have thought that Arizona would be a fun place to live, I have lots of family there so I would have to get up the courage to ask if I could stay with them, find a job and I would be carless. Number three, the last one on the list and the one that interests me and everyone most is Virginia, I know what you might all be saying, that is really far away, and yes it is very far away, its the complete opposite side of the country, but I would be able to stay with some good family friends for a while, test it out see if I like it out there, find a job and if I don't like it then I can always come back and be back in time to go to COS in the fall. So as of right now, my plans are to move to Virginia here in a few weeks, and I am scared to death to do it... One word "flying."

Thoughts of Moving

With the prospect of moving out on my own being just around the corner my mother informed that I needed to start a blog so that family and friends can keep up with my hopefully soon to be busy life. Many of you may be wondering why and where I might be moving to, and the answers are one it is time for me to move, along with many other reasons, but it all comes down to it being time for me to leave the nest that my parents have been kind enough to provide for me for the last 19 years. When it comes to the second answer of where might I be moving, well that is still up in the air, along with the when and how, all I know is that I am moving. Deciding to move wasn't as hard as what I thought it would be, I had school, friends, family, and my kitten all keeping me here, but once my parents told me I could drop my classes, that was taken care of in about 5 minutes, they didn't need to ask or tell me twice that I could take a break from school. Friends and Family, well thats why people have come up with great inventions such as cell phones, facebook, email, and of course the much loved snail mail that will allow me to keep in contact with those people that feel they just can't live without me. As for the last thing on my list, my kitten, that will be the hardest thing for me to leave behind, for only having had her since the end of August my little 7 month old kitten has worked her way in to the heart of everyone that meets her, she will be the one I miss the most, but she will be here when I come home, and one day I will take her with me. So as I plan this move and decide what to do with my life I hope that you will enjoy joining me.
